Storage caps and retention
Error codes: BK-CAP
Every plan with backups has a managed storage cap and a retention period; your current values are on the Account page and on /pricing.
What counts toward the cap
Only backups stored in Vigavo's managed storage count: the compressed, encrypted size of each database snapshot plus each distinct Supabase Storage file (a file that did not change is stored once, not once per snapshot). Backups in your own bucket do not count.
When storage fills up
- At 80 % you get a
storage_80alert. - At 100 % new backups pause and you get a critical
storage_100alert. The run fails with BK-CAP. Existing snapshots stay.
To resume: free space (delete old pinned snapshots, back up fewer Storage buckets), move to a plan with more storage, or ask for the storage add-on.
Which snapshots are kept
- every snapshot from the last 7 days;
- the newest snapshot of each day for days 8 to 30;
- the newest snapshot of each week after that, up to your plan's retention period;
- pinned snapshots always (Vigavo pins a snapshot automatically when the size of a backup changes sharply, so a good copy is not pruned).
Inside a day or week a verified snapshot is kept in preference to a newer unverified one. Older snapshots are deleted by a daily job.
