Restore drills

A restore drill is a practice restore: once a week Vigavo restores your latest verified snapshot into a separate scratch database, checks it and deletes it again. Nothing touches your real database.

• Turn drills on per project on the Backups tab (plans that include restore drills; see /pricing).
• After each drill you get a short report by email; a failed drill sends a restore_drill_failed alert.
• If a drill reports the scratch database was busy (RS-BUSY) it simply runs again later.

Drills show that a snapshot could be restored at that moment. They are the closest thing to a real restore without risk, not a promise about every future restore.
