Install the WordPress plugin

The Vigavo plugin lets WordPress sites send heartbeats and backups without shell access.

Install

1. In Vigavo open the project's WordPress tab and generate a site key (it is shown once).
2. Download the plugin zip from the same tab and upload it in WordPress (Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin). WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
3. In WordPress open Settings, Vigavo, paste the site key and save. The plugin registers with Vigavo and sends its first heartbeat.

What it does

• A daily heartbeat with the WordPress, PHP, plugin and theme versions, pending updates and the list of administrators. New administrators and known plugin vulnerabilities raise alerts.
• Backups of the database and of wp-content (uploads, themes, plugins), made in PHP in small parts and uploaded directly to storage. An interrupted backup resumes. Vigavo checks every part and encrypts the result.
• Restores must be authorized in the Vigavo dashboard (typed site name and a 2FA code) and confirmed again inside WordPress.

Problems

• WP-HEARTBEAT: no heartbeat for more than 48 hours. WP-Cron runs only when the site gets visits; check that the plugin is active and that the site can reach vigavo.com. "Send heartbeat now" in the plugin settings tests it.
• WP-FAILED: a WordPress backup failed. The plugin settings page shows the last error; the next run resumes.
