Bring your own bucket (BYO storage)

המאמר עדיין לא תורגם; הוא מוצג באנגלית.

קודי שגיאה: BK-DEST

Instead of Vigavo's managed storage you can send a project's backups to an S3-compatible bucket you own (Backblaze B2, AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi and similar). Available on plans that list "Your own S3 bucket" on /pricing.

Set it up

  1. Create a private bucket and an access key limited to that bucket (read, write, delete).
  2. On the project's Backups tab open "Your own bucket" and enter the endpoint (must start with https://), key id, secret, bucket, region and an optional prefix.
  3. Vigavo tests the bucket by writing, reading and deleting a small probe object. Only a passing test is saved. The secret is stored encrypted with your account key.

Good to know

  • Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, also when they go to your bucket; you need Vigavo to decrypt them.
  • BYO storage does not count toward your managed storage cap.
  • Endpoints on private or reserved addresses are refused.
  • If you delete the bucket or the key, runs fail with BK-DEST until you save a working destination again. Snapshots that lived only in a removed destination cannot be restored by Vigavo.
